Los Angeles, CA – The Power of Positive Music Movement (PoPMM) is pleased to announce Positive Vibes In The Park, a spectacular musical event being held on September 29^th, 2018, from 10 am to 6 pm, at Woodley Park, in Van Nuys, CA. Admission is free. The event will be hosted by renowned DJ Avi Bernard (DJ on Stevie Wonder’s radio station KJLH 102.3FM and Sports Correspondent for KTLA Channel 5).

PoPMM, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2017 as a means of bringing about a universal message for change in light of the many recent events in mass media that have had devastatingly negative effects on society as a whole. With the understanding that music is a powerful tool that can build bridges between communities, the movement aspires to encourage artists and entertainers to become catalysts for change.

As a means to achieve its objective of promoting positive messages through music, PoPMM implements music programs in schools, advocates its cause with the FCC, and hosts festivals and events such as the upcoming Positive Vibes In The Park.

According to PoPMM founder Keyonne Brooks, the event is already getting plenty of interest and attention from the media:

“With a live DJ and exciting surprise performances, it’s going to be an incredible event,” says Brooks. “Ours is a movement that’s out to change the world, so please come and show your support. With your help we know we can make the world a better place!”

Sponsored by Jellee Organics, Zevia, Piano Play Music Systems and Encino Academy of Music and Art, Positive Vibes In The Park is a diverse, picnic-style community event offering free admission and free parking. Appearances will be made by Epoch Times, Don Amiche (KJLH), Sahar Andrade, along with other surprise guest performers. A variety of food and drink vendors will be present, and there will be a raffle offering a free Yamaha Keyboard, free tickets to Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier, the Walt Disney Family Museum, and more.

A 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization, PoPMM was founded by Keyonne Brooks when he came to the realization that music was beginning to impact society in a negative way. With statistics showing a rise in depression and suicide in males, Brooks became interested in music therapy, and knew that changes needed to be made. PoPMM not only challenges artists and musicians to produce art with a positive message, but also challenges directors and radio hosts to play music with positive messages.
