Lake Balboa, CA – Power of Positive Music Movement (PoPMM), a tax-exempt non-profit organization dedicated to changing the world through music, is pleased to announce that it is taking part in the California Adopt A Highway® program by adopting part of Highway 405 in Los Angeles.

“We’re delighted to be able to do our part in taking care of the community we live in,” says PoPMM’s founder, Keyonne Brooks. “Showing social responsibility is at the very core of who we are. We’re here to facilitate a positive change in the content of music media, and it makes sense that we should also set an example by demonstrating our concern for the environment.”

Brooks notes that volunteers aged 16 and up are encouraged to sign up to participate in the program.

Inspired by recent events in mass media that have had a profoundly negative effect on society, PoPMM aspires to use the power of music as a catalyst for change by reaching out to artists, musicians, directors and radio hosts. The goal is to make the world a safer place by focusing on positivity and understanding. The process involves targeting youth and implementing music programs in schools together with PoPMM festivals and events, and advocating with the FCC for a change in regulations on music content allowed to be played over the airwaves.

PoPMM has a wealth of celebrity support, including Alex Marley, Gerald Albright, Dave Koz, Deniece Williams, The Product G&B, Carl Giammarese, and many others.

Two special PoPMM events are scheduled for later this year. In partnership with WNBA Los Angeles Sparks, there will be a special night of recognition on August 1, which will be televised on ESPN2.  And on September 8 there will be a fundraising event in which fans and supporters will have the opportunity to get VIP early access to participate in the Hi-Five Tunnel in the game against their rival team, the Minnesota Lynx. This event will also be televised on ESPN2.
